Mount Cook station is a family-run high country station with accommodation and event options available.

As part of the sale agreement of Mount Cook Station in 2017, we offered to build a museum to showcase the rich history of the property and the characters that worked on the station.

The museum contains mementoes from their lives and skills, machinery through the generations, as well as historical pieces donated from surrounding stations.

Mount Cook Station is located in the heart of New Zealand’s South Island, a 45-minute drive from Lake Tekapo along Braemar Road (gravel road), or a 1-hour drive from Twizel along SH 8 and Hayman Road.

Mount Cook Station is approximately halfway between Christchurch and Queenstown, which both have international airports.

Google Maps will often send you up the west side of Lake Pukaki, which is the WRONG WAY.

You CAN NOT cross at the top of Lake Pukaki, near Mt Cook Village. The ONLY way to get to us is up the east side of the lake, heading north along Hayman Road and Braemar Mount Cook Station Road. Please see the map below for our location.
